Nature Audio Books Help Insomniac Get His Sleep!
Warren has had problems falling asleep most of his life. It wasn’t that big of a deal to him most of the time. In college, he scheduled most of his classes to start in the afternoon. His first full-time job out of school was managing a restaurant for the 4pm to midnight shift, so he didn’t have to rise early for that, either. But Warren’s new position as an executive chef was a 9-5 job, and he has already started off on the wrong foot by arriving late to work several times in the first few weeks.
But it’s not his fault. Warren was diagnosed as a moderate insomniac when he was a child. He has gone through several different medications, therapies, home remedies – without much success. For whatever reason, Warren just can’t fall asleep until 2 or 3 in the morning on most nights. It doesn’t matter where he sleeps, there’s just something in his body that biologically prevents him from sleeping until an hour or two before the sun starts to rise.
Warren even tried a hypnotherapy session not too long ago. That didn’t work either. Then one day, during a routine check-up with his doctor, they were discussing the problem when Warren’s doctor asked him what he did to try to relax. Warren said that he usually heads down the road from his house where there is a stream, and he is comforted by the sounds of the water and the birds chirping, and the other sounds of nature. As soon as Warren said that, he came upon an idea …
Warren headed straight from the doctor’s office to the Barnes and Noble in town and found the audio book section. In the back corner, he found a few “Sounds of Nature” audio books. If the sounds of nature could comfort him and help him relax during the day, could they do so at night and help him fall asleep?
That night, Warren inserted one of the Sounds of Nature cassettes into his stereo, pressed play, and laid down in bed. It was only 10:30, so he figured he had at least four or five hours to go until he fell asleep.
Warren couldn’t believe his eyes when he woke up the next morning at 7:30, feeling completely refreshed! He must have fallen asleep within an hour of playing the tape, because the cassette was 60 minutes, and he didn’t remember the tape stopping at all.
That was two weeks ago, and Warren has been able to fall asleep every night before the end of the tape … his insomnia was finally cured because of nature audio books!
